Some Beach Vacations Are

Meant To Be Simple

Hotel Sol sits on the pristine white sand between Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach, directly on the Gulf of Mexico, 27 miles from Tampa International Airport. In 1957 this stretch of Redington Shores had one hotel on it, and the water was the entire reason it existed. That hasn't changed. There's still no lobby to cross to get to the beach, step outside your door, and you're already there.

It's a small hotel by design, no high-rise, no resort sprawl. What guests remember isn't a lobby chandelier, it's the quiet, and every room here still carries the name of a Gulf gamefish, a small nod to the hotel it used to be.

Beachfront Hotel with a Pool in
Redington Shores, FL

Swim, Unwind, and Step Right Onto the Beach

At Hotel Sol, you don’t have to choose between a day by the water and an afternoon at the pool. Our location brings the best parts of a Florida Gulf Coast getaway together, with a swimming pool, tropical outdoor spaces, and the beach just steps away.

Start the morning on the sand, cool off with a swim, or settle into a hammock as the sun goes down. Everything is close enough to enjoy the day at your own pace.

Relax by the Pool at Hotel Sol

The outdoor pool sits at the heart of Hotel Sol’s laid-back Redington Shores, Florida setting. Surrounded by tropical landscaping and a welcoming courtyard, it gives guests an easy place to swim, lounge, and spend time together.

A waterfall feature adds to the atmosphere, while nearby seating makes it easy to move between the water and a relaxing afternoon in the sun.

For couples, families, and groups, the pool provides another way to enjoy the day whenever you want a break from the sand and surf.

Steps From a Sandy Beach

One of the best parts of staying at Hotel Sol is how easily a pool day can become a beach day.

Walk out toward the Gulf for a morning beside the water, return for an afternoon swim, or find a beachfront hammock and settle in as evening approaches. There’s no need to build the day around driving somewhere else or constantly packing up.

That proximity creates the easy rhythm people look for in a Florida beach vacation: swim, relax, explore, and repeat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Redington Shores appeals to travelers who want the Gulf Coast experience without staying in one of the area's busier beach destinations. You can spend the morning on a sandy beach, relax by the pool, and enjoy a quieter home base, then drive south when you want the restaurants, nightlife, attractions, and activity around St. Pete Beach. Hotel Sol's location on Gulf Boulevard makes it particularly convenient for guests who want access to both sides of that experience.

  • Yes. Redington Shores and neighboring North Redington Beach have a more residential, laid-back feel than some of the larger tourism centers along the coast. Rather than choosing a large resort simply to stay near the Gulf, travelers can make Hotel Sol their home base and spend more of the day around the beach and outdoor pool. For couples and families who value quieter mornings and evenings, that can be a major reason to stay here.

  • Yes. One advantage of this part of the barrier island is that you don't have to spend your entire vacation in one beach town. From Hotel Sol, guests can explore Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach, and other Gulf communities while returning to a quieter place to stay. That makes the property an appealing alternative when comparing beach hotels, larger resorts, motels, and vacation rentals throughout the area.

  • A stay here doesn't have to revolve around sightseeing. The swimming pool and Gulf give you an easy way to spend a slower day close to your room. Walk down to the beach, swim, relax outside, or explore restaurants and businesses nearby on Gulf Boulevard. When you do want more activity, you can drive to one of the area's busier destinations rather than having that activity immediately outside your door throughout your stay.

  • Look beyond the overall rating and consider the kind of trip each property offers. Recent guest reviews can help you compare proximity to the Gulf, pool access, room types, atmosphere, parking, and how busy the surrounding area feels. A large resort hotel, traditional motel, rental house, and smaller coastal property can offer very different experiences even when they are relatively close together. Before making reservations, decide whether you want to stay in the middle of the action or prefer a quieter Gulf Coast home base with easy access to it.

  • Hotel Sol gives you a quieter Gulf-front home base without putting you far from the area's busier destinations. Madeira Beach is about 2 miles away, while John's Pass Village & Boardwalk is roughly 4 miles away and about a 10-minute drive. St. Pete Beach is farther south along the coast; from the Redington Beach area, it's roughly 8 miles or about a 14-minute drive, depending on traffic.

That makes the location especially useful if you want to spend most of your stay around the beach and pool but still have easy access to restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and attractions when you want them. You can head south toward Madeira Beach, John's Pass, Treasure Island, and St. Pete Beach for a more active afternoon or evening, then return to the quieter stretch of coast around North Redington and Redington Beach.

For a day farther north, Clearwater-area attractions are also within driving distance; for example, Clearwater Marine Aquarium is about a 30-minute drive.
