Why Gulf Front

The only rooms where the water is the view.

These are the rooms that actually face open water. Courtyard rooms look at the pool and Sunside Suites sit across Gulf Boulevard. Gulf-Front rooms are the ones with nothing between you and the Gulf but sand and sky.

Choose upstairs and you get a balcony with a Gulf view. Pick the ground floor and the beach is a few steps from your door, no stairs required. Every room has a kitchenette and free WiFi, so a late breakfast on the balcony or a cooler packed for the beach takes no planning.

Hotel Sol opened in 1957 as The Marlin, and every room still carries the name of a Gulf gamefish. Today, this Gulf Coast beachfront hotel offers the same connection to the water. The Marlin Suite leads the collection.

Make the Most of Your Gulf Stay

Explore nearby beaches, plan a day out, and check the details before you book.

  • Beyond the Beach: Clearwater and St. Pete

A stay in Redington Shores leaves space for more than days on the sand. Head north for an outing to Clearwater Beach, or make time for St. Petersburg when you want a change of scenery. You can explore the surrounding beaches without changing your lodging each time.

Keep a few afternoons open rather than filling every day. Hotel Sol offers a place to return to when you’re ready to trade sightseeing for an evening by the Gulf.

  • John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk in Madeira Beach brings waterfront dining, shops and boat excursions together in one outing. Browse for souvenirs, stop for seafood, or book a dolphin-watching cruise for time on the water.

For another coastal stop, explore Treasure Island. Mix an afternoon out with an unhurried morning back at Hotel Sol—you don’t need a full itinerary to enjoy this stretch of coast.

  • Before You Book

Start with your dates and number of guests, then check the individual accommodation details. The four options sleep either two or four, so compare sleeping arrangements as well as availability.

If you’re planning a boat trip or other scheduled activity, check departure times and leave room in the day for travel. A little planning lets you spend more of your stay enjoying the water.

  • Does Gulf-front mean a partial Gulf view?

Here, it means your room faces the water directly. These accommodations have a beach view across the sand, with no road between the building and the shore.

Do guests have access to the pool?

Yes. You can spend time at Hotel Sol’s outdoor pool as well as on the beach - neither being too far from your room.

Can I visit John’s Pass without changing hotels?

Can I visit John’s Pass without changing hotels?

Yes. John’s Pass is in nearby Madeira Beach, making it an outing you can include during your Redington Shores stay.

Can I book an upstairs balcony for two guests?

Yes. The Marlin Suite and Sailfish Room each accommodate up to four guests, but you can also book either for a two-person stay with a private balcony overlooking the Gulf.
